“Du Sang dans ma culotte” is the latest book

published by Ghislene Meance, Psy.D

This book is about acquiring the freedom to break frontiers about menstruation in the francophone community. Ghislène Méance, a professional journalist with a Psychological Doctorate in clinical psychology, interviewed immigrant women from all over the world about their perception of their menstruation! Most women interviewed said that they “would rather be a man just to avoid the stigmas attached to that phenomenon. While here in the U.S.A young women have the luxury of feminine hygiene products being freely advertised, in other countries like Haiti, some women are still using non-disposable white clothes.

There is also the whole culture of cleaning the white cloth, and how to behave around men. For young Haitian females, it’s about becoming a mature woman… for Japanese and Brezilian women it’s a matter of cleansing. This book brings knowledge and enlightment to professionals and breaks taboos

about menstruation in many countries.
